Kingdoms: Far Stations & Arcane Covenants

The first is a riff on the space station on the border of something great, ala DS9 and B5. The second considers how you might play out the story of an Ars Magica covenant in Kingdom, perhaps to tell the story of rivals or in-between campaigns.

I’m getting ready to put some Kingdom 2e up on our community calendar. That reminded me of the series of Kingdom seeds I’d written up when this blog was still on blogspot. I’ve brought over a lot of material from there to here, but I realized I hadn’t brought these over. They’re part of my eventual third volume of the Age of Ravens books, but that is still in the works.

Finished playing Kingdom Come Deliverance and one of the silliest moments in the story was when someone was able to deduce that the main antagonist is gay because his second in command referred to him by just his name instead of “sir/lord” so obviously that must mean they’re close lovers

"Place yourself in the role of Princess Erinys, whose kingdom has fallen under the yoke of a sorrowful curse. In order to save everything you have ever known and loved, you’ll have to stand against the entire world - and even defy the Goddess herself.

How much weight will a withered kingdom burden your soul? As a princess, will you be loved or hated, betrayer or betrayed? Will you seek comfort in the companionship of others, or will the demise of your kingdom seal your heart away forever?

A path of thorns is waiting. The manner in which you walk it is up to you."

A main character that's defined, yet mouldable to your taste. Princess Erinys is an established protagonist with both a background and a personality of her own, yet it's up to you to decide how she'll evolve and relate to the other characters. You can also select your own preferred name for her.

Roleplay experience. Apart from the most impactful decisions in the story, many dialogue interactions will also contain choices that merely focus on immersion. One answer is not necessarily better than another; it just offers different ways of interacting with others.

Romance. If you wish, you can explore romantic bonds with the two accompanying characters. Although not required in order to see the story to its completion, the relationships you forge with other characters will influence its development.

Turn-based battle system. While the story remains the most important element, combat will be indispensable to progress. The turn-based combat system offers three distinct and fully hand-animated characters.

Dark and emotional story. Will the princess question her own morality? Will narcissism and lust for power replace faithful bonds to become her most loyal companions? And from what prism will she judge the sins of others?

Proud loving daddy who loves both his son and his adoptive son! Instills fear but also adoration into the hearts of men called Sima Yi. Walks slowmo across the mountains like a badass.

Super handsome. Loves his new pet horse! Which he delivered himself! Not immune to Zhou Yu's charms. In touch with his emotions :) kind to birds and women :)

The Three Kingdoms RPG (2012)

10/10. Perfection.

Super wholesome. LOVES HIS (beautiful!!!) WIFE!!! Somehow manages to put up with the dumbass isekai'd protag's shit without clobbering him over the head. Gets steamy backrubs from Liu Bei.

Romance of the Three Kingdoms (1994)

9.9999999999/10. (Very almost) perfection.

Disclaimer I haven't seen this yet but come on he's gotta be perfect right? @mademoiselle-red 's screenshots have convinced me so. EXCEPT. There's this one bit where Liu Bei makes him a hat and he's mean about it?? HOW DARE. So we take off an infinitesimally small amount. Fantastic dancer, apparently.
